

Maybe I should give it another try, but there are also other space themed RTS and strategy games out there. I was probably doing something wrong, but even so, I didn't feel like the gameplay loop was pulling me to keep going like a Civilization game might. Two here and two there - I found myself endlessly expanding only to be far weaker than any of the other alien races in the galaxy. I tried Stellaris, to get a game that would feel like a broader conflict than a desert conflict, but I don't know.

Maybe I'm not looking for Dune as much as a space age strategy game that features multiple planets, not just one of them. Since I'm only about twenty percent into the book, and only half way through that or so do the characters actually arrive on Arrakis, so my mind has been on broader space.
